It's been a while since I posted on this blog. For the past year I have been in Sacramento expanding my business. However, I had 20 weddings still this year in Riverside and the surrounding areas. I've been so busy that I've neglected this blog. Traveling so much puts a drain on me and on time.

In the next few months I will be updating this blog with photos of this season. I am still am and will be working in Riverside to come. So feel free to contact me if you are need of a photographer.

Start of the New Season - Riverside Wedding Photographers

Weddings are around the corner. This week we are booked up with meetings in Riverside with potential clients, a maternity session, and two engagement sessions. The second engagement session we have been anticipating for a while. Additionally we get to visit the family. Last time I traveled down Jolene wasn't able to come. So she'll get to see her family as well.

We are traveling to Las Vegas to do a themed shoot. It is also our hope to travel to the Neon Museum (Boneyard) and shoot a 50's style set. Plus we have other things planned out there as well. We hope it turns out great. We can't wait to post the photos. Additionally we will be going to Laguna Beach for some photos there as well.

From April to July we have our weekends pretty much all booked up. It will be a busy next couple of months. Lots of traveling from Sacramento to Riverside. Back and forth, putting miles on the vehicles, and sometimes flights through Southwest. It will be worth it though. Come back to see pictures of this weeks shots.

Website Changes for Southern California Website

Recently I had been updating everything for my Sacramento website. However, today I decided to make some tweaks to my Riverside website as well. I felt it needed a little more edge and pizazz. So I added a new background. The background is a one that I created for my flush mount albums. Many people commented on how they liked it, so I decided to add it to the site.

Most importantly I eliminated a lot of the flash that occurred on each page. That way each page will now load a bit faster. Additionally I also made my investment/pricing page a bit more easier to read. Before things were a bit messy and it probably was a bit difficult to read. Now I put it into columns and rows to eliminate that stress. I also eliminated the pricing for prints. I felt it added to the headache of deciphering all the details. I will still be doing prints, however I will give the prices to my clients when I meet them.

I have begun wedding season full force now. I've been photographing engagement sessions, booking weddings, and now more weddings. It should be a great year for Wedding by Photo. We are buying a lot more equipment. The more equipment, the more we can pull off shots we would have never been able to do.

One of our biggest things we look forward to is the new pocket wizards. They are made specifically for Nikon, and not only Canon. That will help a lot with off camera flash.

Videography is also taking off this year. We are buying another expensive video camera. Last week we just invested in a new wireless microphone system. That will help tremendously with sound. Anyway, here is a virtual toast to the future.

Updates - Riverside Wedding Photography

For the past two months I have been expanding my business to Sacramento. In the process I have been traveling a lot. Many people have asked where I am living. Well to be perfectly honest, I have been living in Sacramento and Riverside. Part of the time I am there and part of the time here in Riverside.

I will admit I have been spending more time in Sacramento because I am trying to get my name out. That takes time. I even set up a new blog which is entitled http://aweddingbyphoto.com/blog/

This blog will be entirely for Sacramento. Since I am still going to be working here in Riverside, I will still be using this blog as well. So it will be like nothing ever happened. While expanding, I've been booking many weddings in Riverside. I've passed on a few, which I wish I hadn't. Though, I do have to pick and choose. There will be some more people that I need to meet in the next couple of weeks. So more traveling to come. My last trip out I booked 4 weddings in a 24 hour period. Pretty good ratio I must say. Anyway, I'll be back posting here soon. A couple engagement sessions are coming up. They will be the most unique ones I've ever done. I can't wait.

Exciting Times - Sacramento Wedding Photographer

Over the past few weeks I have been branding our company name. This past month I have expanded my business to Sacramento. A ways from SO-CAL, but just as great. In the process I opened up a new website: http://aweddingbyphoto.com/ . Since my new site includes the letter a, I needed to change a lot of my current stuff.

To make changes, I've changed the colors of my main logo. My contracts now include the a design. Last week I created some stickers that reflect that the logo change, and are now located on my folders. Even more exciting is that I purchased some sweaters with our logo on them. I've done shirts and blouses before, but never sweaters. Wearing them will be like walking billboards. Without the high cost of course.

Jolene wanted me to buy some new name badges. We have our shirts embroidered, but she wanted to be able to wear other clothing that is not embroidered. The new name badges will allow us to still show off our company logo, and even offer our own name when we arrive at weddings. Additionally it will help when we have multiple weddings in a week, and don't have a chance to wash our company clothing. We can just put a badge on our own clothes, and not have to stink!

Additionally, we just ordered some personalized flash drives and cases. For a long time we have been offering our photos on DVD's. We have been looking for creative ideas that would showcase our work even better. So we've designed some personalized flash drives and boxes. I'm looking forward to seeing them.

We are also going to be buying some personalized pens. When meeting with clients we seem to remember our portfolio, our contracts, DVD's and albums. However, sometimes we overlook bringing a pen along. We can't sign contracts without it. With our new pens, we can pre-attach the pens to the folders. That way a pen will never be forgotten.

We are also in the process of designing some booklets that showcase our work, and will also include details of pricing. It is so much better than just words on a paper.

Lastly, we are going to be getting some more examples of various albums. It will cost a pretty penny, but well worth it.

Lots of new things are coming our way. I'll post pictures in the future when they arrive. We are still using our old website http://weddingbyphoto.com/ and will update things there as well in the near future.

Yosemite Vacation - Sacramento Landscape Photographer

This past weekend my wife and I went with her family to the Yosemite National Park. It was time to get out of Sacramento and Riverside for a bit. Out of all of the places in the world we have visited, Yosemite is our favorite. In the past year we have been there 5 times. Each time we go we see so many different things. There are always many wonders to discover there. We were lucky enough to arrive a couple days after a snow storm. The past couple years we always went when it snowed. This time was a bit different, because the snow was starting to melt. The water falls were larger. The river was wider and deeper. Places normally covered with snow, were flowing with water. It was still cold enough, however, to walk on lake Mirror and not fall through. That was very exciting.

We will be returning in February to capture some photos that can only be captured then. So return soon to see those photos as well. The following photos are ones we took while there this weekend. As always, enjoy.

Darkest Day in 372 years - Sacramento Photographer

Today is the darkest day in 372 years. Not only is it winter solstice, but also at 12:17 a.m. we had a full lunar eclipse. Those fortunate to have clear weather were able to see this once in a lifetime event. Fortunately for us in Sacramento, we were one of the fortunate. It had been raining all day, but luckily in the evening the clouds began to clear. Thus giving us the opportunity to be able to see it.

For those of you who don't know, the Winter Solstice marks the beginning of winter, and is the shortest day of the year. Combine the winter solstice with a full moon that is eclipsed by the earth, you get a day like today.

Elizabeth and Jeff - Surf and Sand Resort Wedding Photographer

Scrounging around in my past weddings I came across Elizabeth and Jeff's wedding. I posted a couple pictures from their wedding a while back, but I never gave them a spot of their own. They had a small wedding at the Surf and Sand Resort. It is a great location for a wedding next to the beach. I really enjoyed walking on the beach with them and taking their photos. They are coming up upon their two year anniversary. Congratulations.

Andria and Bryan - Richard Nixon Library Wedding Photographer

I have been going over our past weddings and found many of them that I have never posted on my blog. The next few posts that I make will cover various weddings in the past couple years. The pictures I show below is of Andria and Bryan. The wedding took place at the Richard Nixon Library in Yorba Linda CA.

I had never been to this facility for a wedding before. I had been there as a child, but not a wedding. Surprisingly with the reflection pool it makes for a great shots. It was pleasure to work with Andria and Bryan and I wish them all the best. Enjoy the the wedding photos below.

Sacramento Move - Sacramento Wedding Photographer

This past Friday we were finally able to make the move to Sacramento. Our new address is 4631 Jion Court, Sacramento, CA 95842. Also, our new phone number is 916-807-4406. We will still be working in Southern California, as well as Northern, but with lots of traveling. Our phone number for southern California is still 951-288-6813. I can't wait to start shooting weddings (photography and videography) in this new location.

Nicole and Juan - Fairmount Park Wedding Photography

Today was a great and wonderfully wet day. Jolene and I had the opportunity to photograph the wedding of Nicole and Juan at the Fairmont Park Rose Garden. The rains never let up. Finally we had a lull in time, so I decided to take some pictures of something else other than weddings. This is a bit off the topic, but today I took some pictures of the corn we have here at home. Happy Halloween. I know it's a bit late, but I finally took some pictures of two pumpkins we carved. I carved a portrait of my cat Echo on one. My wife decided to carve a snowflake in her's. We haven't carved pumpkins in years, so I'm a bit rusty. I have lots of ideas though for next year. Here are some photos.

We were very fortunate to photograph Kim and David's wedding this past weekend at the Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine. Thankfully it did not rain. I recently posted some photos of the wedding. Southern California Logo Designer

I've been designing logos for years, however I never posted them or have shown them to anyone other than those I made them for. Anyway, I was asked to make a logo today. So I thought I would post it below. I only had a short time to get it done, but I got it done in two hours. If I had more time, it would have been better. Oh well, I still like it. Hopefully they do too. It is designed for the Corona S.D.A. Church Hawaiian Hallelujah Festival.

We recently had the chance to take some photos of the Ferri family this past month. It was there 25th Anniversary. Congrats Ferri Family! They also brought their daughter along with them. We went to Laguna Beach for a casual shoot. Clouds came in quickly which made it difficult to take pictures. The marine layer got my lenses all wet and foggy. Here is what we got before that.
